Breast Cancer Awareness Collection
$20.00 - $50.00
Breast Cancer Awareness month is October.
Back in 2019, during my first mammogram, it was discovered that I had Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS) in my left breast.
It is the presence of abnormal cells inside a milk duct in the breast. DCIS is considered the earliest form of breast cancer. DCIS is noninvasive, meaning it hasn't spread out of the milk duct and has a low risk of becoming invasive. (From the Mayo Clinic Website.)
I decided to have a lumpectomy, radiation and am currently taking a medication for the last number of years daily. I know how grateful I am that this was a low risk diagnosis and was also shocked and scared. I know that cancer touches on many of our lives including mine.
I made these mini lantern dot earrings and matching mini lantern dot and ribbon pendant to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness month.
The lantern dots earrings are pink leather 12 mm dots, are lightweight and dangle a little over an inch and a half.
The lantern dot pendant is also a pink leather 12 mm in diameter and has a stainless steel ribbon on top. The chain is 18 inches in length.
All metal is stainless steel which is hypoallergenic, waterproof and tarnish free.
A portion of each sale of this jewelry collection will go to Runway For Recovery.
With Family Grants, Runway funds families who have had a loved one pass away from breast cancer in order to reduce financial and logistical burdens and bolster families with psychological, social, and financial support. In addition, we fund those who are living with stage IV, metastatic, breast cancer. Runway for Recovery is committed to being flexible with families in order to address their specific needs.
They also host a special annual runway show which this year is on 10/26/23.
